Texas Bluebonnet Reading ProgramThe Texas Bluebonnet Reading program encourages children from 3rd thru 6th grade to read and explore a variety of current books. Students who finish five from the present list of nominees are eligible to vote for their favorite book sometime in January. They will also be receiving a certificate and participate in the Bluebonnet bash (date to be announced later). Click on the TBA logo to see activities, read aloud suggestions, booktalks, and interactive websites that relate to books on this year's and previous years' nominees.

Award Winning Books
The Caldecott Medal Award is given annually by the Association of Library Services for Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children. The Pura Belpre Award is awarded to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
